Our world
The boutique Département Féminin, an allusion to a department store, with windows framed in black is distinctly visible to passers-by at 1 rue Maurice Fonvieille.
Open to the street but entirely confidential because you must first ring and then, you are met personally at the door. The golden rule of Département Féminin, before even speaking of style (luxury), is the guarantee of courtesy and customized service. The store offers only the most exclusive assistance. Salespersons will soon learn your tastes, your measurements and even your first name if you wish. They will accompany you in discovering the most recent collections of Céline, Chloé, Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaïa, Valentino, Loewe, Rick Owens... These creators have been boldly selected by artistic director Carole Benazet's whose subtle taste and discretion is at your service.
Each season the window displays are transformed from bikes to seashells, to fur or a stuffed parrot. Inside are large rooms with white walls and light wood floors, chandeliers and mirrors, intimate lounges that are like dressing rooms, comfortable chairs, space for accessories.
The furniture has been sensibly selected, antiques or custom designed pieces, creating an atmosphere, an emotion. In the air, there is a fragrance that drifts languidly with notes that are fresh and spicy, the olfactory signature of Département Féminin. A few art books are scattered here and there alongside bags or shoes. Garments are gracefully hanging and not just classified by creators, but also colors, punctuating the space visually and creating an exceptional universe where you feel like home even if you are in a 300 square meter apartment-sized shop.
In 2008, to keep a lever on current trends and international clients, Carole Benazet opened the e-shop of Département Féminin, which is an aspiring extension of the physical store, cultivating the same attention to detail and individualized service that is combined with an amazing selection that delights feminine sensibilities.
